Local Legend.

In our home town of Chicago, Cook County spends about $52,000 per year to incarcerate someone*.‍‍‍

‍In pilot versions of our apprenticeship program, this belief has been tested and confirmed: paying someone a consistent, living-wage not only puts money back into the neighborhood but it is a powerful motivator to avoid unlawful activities and ‘street economies’.

The key point of the program is to hire individuals with serious felony charges. This commitment builds credibility quickly. Word of mouth spreads.

"I have a job” is a powerful statement, especially for younger individuals who have felony backgrounds, face and neck tattoos, no prior work experience, or have not completed their high school education.
